POSITION OVERVIEWThe DEMAND PLANNING ASSISTANT MANAGER will support the planning, forecasting, and inventory management processes across the organization. They will help translate sales, marketing, outlet expansion and operations input into accurate demand forecasts, maintain inventory health, collaborate with procurement and operations, and ensure product availability while optimizing cost and waste.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain rolling demand forecasts (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for warehouse replenishment to support retail outlets, new store openings and product launches.Analyze historical sales data, marketing/promotional calendars, seasonality, outlet growth, and external trends to improve forecast accuracy.Monitor and report key forecasting / planning KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, bias, inventory turnover, stock-outs, surplus/potential write-off).Work with procurement, marketing, and retail operations to align supply plan with demand forecasts; ensure buffer stocks, lead-times, and safety stocks are appropriate for store network growth.Coordinate with the product and marketing teams to incorporate planned campaigns, launches, promos, product offboarding, etc. into the demand plan.Identify demand risks (e.g., supplier issues, supply chain disruptions, unplanned spikes) and propose mitigation plans.Manage inventory levels across central distribution center and hubs.Set the S&OP process and lead regular demand review meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.Recommend process improvements, tools or analytics for better forecasting (e.g., improved modelling, automation of data collection, dashboards).Provide insights and reporting to senior management: highlight trends, deviations, root-cause for forecast misses, opportunities for cost savings or operational efficiency.Supervise and mentor demand planning team to build forecasting capability.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum 5 years of demand planning / forecasting / inventory management experience — preferably in retail/food & beverage/fast-moving-consumer-goods (FMCG) environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Result-oriented; with a strong drive for meeting department targets.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and supply chain planning tools; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.Experience in demand-planning software considered a plus.
