Responsibilities:
• Cost Accounting: Manage and oversee the cost accounting function, including the development of standard costs, analysis of cost variances, and preparation of cost reports.
• Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation by implementing effective inventory control procedures.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans, providing insights and analysis on cost trends and performance.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of cost variances (material, labor, overhead) to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including cost of goods sold, gross margin analysis, and profitability reports for management review.
• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls over cost accounting processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline cost accounting processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance the overall efficiency of the finance department.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, supply chain, and sales, to understand cost drivers and provide financial support for decision-making.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and insights related to cost accounting processes and controls.
• Mentoring: Mentor and train junior staff members, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and expertise in cost accounting.
• Analysis: Perform ad-hoc cost analysis and special projects as required by management.
