We need someone awesome to help lead the charge.This brand-new role supports our people and strengthens team culture.Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:Aquatics Operations Manager Job DescriptionLead People & StaffingLead rostering and leave management across all sitesJump in when supervisors need backupBe the support person your team counts onWork with the Aquatics Manager on staffing challengesBuild a Great TeamCoordinate recruitment and onboard new staffDevelop training plans and run monthly sessionsHelp lifeguards level up with PLPC renewals and Skills Active certsTrain staff in pool operations and health & safetyManage OperationsAssist with operational reporting and procurementCoordinate suppliers and contractorsSupport PoolSafe accreditation and facility complianceBe visible, approachable, and ready to problem-solveSafety & ComplianceEnsure everyone follows health and safety protocolsRun audits, drills, and compliance checksLead incident debriefs and coordinate responsesConduct regular 1-1s with Aquatic SupervisorsDesired Skills And ExperienceWho We're Looking For:Experience5+ years leading or supporting teams (aquatics or recreation ideal)Multi-site environment experienceLifeguard Assessor certification and/or Skills Active qualifications (preferred)Must HaveStrong people skills and genuine care for team wellbeingExcellent communicationExperience with rostering and HR systemsBasic pool plant knowledgeCurrent First Aid Certificate and PLPC (or obtain within 4 weeks)Your VibeNatural problem-solver who stays cool under pressureLead with empathy, integrity, and positivitySelf-motivated with initiativeMake people feel supported and valuedWhy This Role Is Epic Brand new position—you'll help shape what this role becomes Real leadership across multiple iconic Central Otago poolsPeople-focused—this role is all about supporting your team to succeedVariety—no two days are the sameCommunity impact—you'll be making a difference every single dayApplications close 1/12/25
