We’re looking for an annotation specialist, and as an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our labeling operations on the Segmed platform. You will have a direct and tangible impact on our medical image products as we grow and launch into new modalities, specialties and use cases. You will report to the Operations Team Lead, and will be responsible for communicating closely with operations and the labeling quality team.
What You Will Do
Perform accurate labeling and annotation for a range of medical data types following detailed instructions.
Work with large datasets for various projects to train ML and AI models.
Maintain high standards of labeling accuracy, data integrity, and documentation, in line with existing or developing SOPs.
Participate in group sessions to review progress, give feedback and solve workflow challenges in a team setting.
Communicate effectively across teams about tasks, workload and priorities
Stay informed about the latest updates and SOPs for assigned projects
Escalate critical or unusual technical or regulatory questions to ensure quality annotation, with close attention to regulatory best practices (e.g., FDA guidance, HIPAA).
Skills And Abilities That Will Help You Succeed
Required Qualifications
Experience
Prior work in medical imaging annotation, medical software/technical work is highly desired, but if you have no experience please apply! We look for aptitude over experience
Knowledgeable
Some prior knowledge and comfort working with human anatomy, including different modalities/planes (MRI, CT, ultrasound etc.) is required.
Critical and Abstract Reasoning
You enjoy problem solving and coming up with new ways of analyzing medical imagery
Attention to Detail
Keen attention to detail is essential in medical annotation to ensure accurate and reliable annotations.
Fast Learner
Strong technical aptitude and a knack for quickly learning complex data-annotation platforms and SOPs are essential.
Languages
Spanish and English Fluency are Required. Other Languages are a Big plus. It helps us ensure data quality.
Tech Savvy
Comfortable learning and using new cloud based tools. A general curiosity and facility with tech products, with specific interest in applications to medicine.
Work Ethic
Must be a team player and have excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively.
Clear communicator
Be capable of clear, precise written and spoken communication on highly specific data-driven annotation practices, across team boundaries.
Bonus points
Domain knowledge:
Medical field experience (clinical or lab, paid or volunteer) a strong plus!
Software
Experience with PACS viewers (desirable)
Annotation Platform Expertise: familiarity with medical data annotation tools (desirable).
Imaging Domain
Some background and knowledge of medical imaging modalities and clinical specialties in relevant datasets is highly useful (CT, MRI, CR/DR X-ray etc).
Location:
Ideally, based out of LatAm (e.g. Colombia, Nicaragua, Peru), so able to work synchronously with the Annotation Operations Team
