Salary: Adjunct PayPosition PurposeUnder the direct supervision of the Dean of Natural Resources & Public Safety, the AdjunctInstructor will perform the following functions: facilitates lecture and lab course instruction byutilizing current materials, while also modifying and creating new content that is relevant tocourse outcomes.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPROVIDES INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES:Responsible for instructing a range of courses in both classroom and lab or field -basedsettings. These courses may include subject matter that relates to analytical chemistry,instruments & analysis using HPLC, GC, GC/MS, LC/MS/MS, cannabis & human history,cannabis supply chain & economics, industry regulations & compliance, indoor/outdoor cropproduction. Courses will primarily be instructed in person, with a few that may be offered in anonline format.
Assists with development of course outcomes and curriculum which areconsistent with Academic Affairs, department, and technology/program goals; convey courseoutcomes and expectations to students according to college policy; organize and manageinstructional activities; use appropriate learner-centered instructional methods; provideevaluation methods appropriate to stated outcomes; evaluate student learning in a fair manner;posts and maintains sufficient office hours compatible with student schedules; maintainaccurate records of evaluation and course work including attendance; submit grades asrequired and on time; regularly seeks feedback on course delivery and student learning;participate in college evaluation system of instructional services; revise / update coursesregularly, contribute to the assessment of student academic achievement; Work cooperativelywith others to accomplish the goals of the department and technology; At all times maintains asafe working area and conditions.Position RequirementsQualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biology, or a closely related fieldRequired, Master’s Preferred. Evidence of professional development in the field of concentration as demonstrated byactivity in professional associations, consultative practice; participation in seminars,workshops, and formal coursework, and individual reading and research. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Strong technology skills including usage of email, student information system, andlearning management system Organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of subject area. Knowledge of educational theory and application. Knowledge of learners and individual learning styles. Interest in and commitment to the learner-centered educational process.
