Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a talented Sr. Electrical Engineer to support the Space Systems business area. This position is located in Louisville, CO.
SNC's Space Systems business area designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft and space systems, satellites and satellite subsystems, spacecraft components and subsystems, propulsion systems and components, and space and satellite-based communications systems and subsystems for domestic and international customers.
As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will perform Electrical Engineering tasks involved in the design, development, analysis, and testing of spacecraft electrical subsystems, units, and components.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead requirements definition, requirements allocation, and requirements verification
Provide leadership and/or oversight for electrical hardware development, including design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing
Lead and/or perform electrical circuit design and analysis including power distribution, analog and digital circuits, and mixed-signal circuits
Guide and/or perform electrical product and component trade studies
Guide and/or perform unit and subsystem level electrical requirements verification testing
Lead and/or support test fixture design and fabrication
Oversee procurement of electrical components
Provide technical expertise and guidance to other engineers
Write technical reports summarizing findings and results
Present technical information to internal and external customers
Support business development activities, including participating in proposal development
This position has the possibility of managing other engineers and technicians
Must-haves:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and typically 8 or more years of relevant experience
A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Demonstrated electrical engineering expertise
Proficiency with electrical analysis and simulation tools, such as SPICE, MATLAB, and Mathcad
Experience designing and testing analog and digital circuits
Knowledgeable in the selection, procurement, and use of electronic components, including microprocessors, memory devices, and power converters
Preferred:
Experience with power systems design and analysis
Experience with spaceflight hardware
Experience with radiation effects on electronics
Experience with requirements definition, requirements allocation, and requirements verification
Experience in a lead role in a development environment
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
The expected starting salary range for this position is $119,461.36 to $164,260.62 annually.
