Conservation Officer Full-time Job

We are seeking a passionate candidate to lead the Sea of Abaco Dolphin Recover Project.

Responsibilities

The Conservation Officer will conduct community outreach, scientific communication, and lead the PR campaign to bring awareness of the declining bottlenose dolphin population in the Sea of Abaco. The Conservation Officer will be based at BMMRO's Marsh Harbour office and join marine mammal vessel surveys in the Sea of Abaco.

Qualifications

The applicant must be a Bahamian citizen; have a Bachelors degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science or a related field; be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience in stakeholder engagement; strong science communications skills; experience in public outreach and education; good writing skills; and able to swim.

BMMRO's personnel have over 50 years of field experience studying marine mammals in The Bahamas which, in combination with our resources available, allow us to provide a broad range of services. These include contracted field work for universities and research organisations, field expeditions for students, analysis and reporting for environmental agencies, and logistical support for professional cameramen and film crews.
