ARTIDIS enables professionals to design personalized cancer treatment plans tailored to individual patients' needs and desired outcomes.Job PurposeThe Mechanical Engineer is a member of the hardware team responsible for developing and improving ARTIDIS products. The role covers end-to-end mechanical design, documentation, and prototyping in accordance with project requirements.This position can be offered either as a 612 month internship or as an entry-level role, depending on the candidates experience, availability, and mutual fit. Responsibilities and expectations will be adapted accordingly to ensure both a strong learning experience and meaningful contribution to the team.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and produce mechanical drawings and 3D models based on engineering requirements using Autodesk Inventor.Create detailed technical plans and layouts for mechanical components and assemblies.Ensure all designs adhere to ISO GPS standards and specifications.Collaborate with the mechatronics and engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with other system components.Realize mechanical prototypes to test functionality and design.Execute design verification tests.Support creation of design verification tests.Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and suggestions for improvements.Perform necessary modifications and revisions to designs based on feedback.Document all design processes, revisions, and specifications clearly and accurately.Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and standards.Support the transition from development to manufacturing.Maintain close communication with suppliers.Ensure the maintenance and troubleshooting of prototypes to ensure they remain operational.QualificationsBachelors degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. Specialization in Mechanical Design is an advantage.Knowledge of ISO GPS (Geometrical Product Specifications).Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.Experience with machined parts, welded assemblies, and 3D-printed components (plastic and metal).Ability to create accurate technical drawings with strong attention to detail.Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or comparable 3D CAD tools.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.Capability to troubleshoot and maintain prototypes.Hands-on experience with prototyping tools and techniques.Fluency in English (spoken and written); German is an advantage.Working ConditionsThe environment is a typical start-up with an intrinsically motivated international team.
